Shopping Totals and Menu

So Yesterday was my shopping day, and phew did I ever shop. LOL. The weather was pretty nice out, which was nice. It seems like every time I go shopping lately it’s either freezing and snowing or its pouring down rain. This time it was pretty nice.

So this week is payday week. So this means that I spend a lil more then last week. This is the week I try and but a few extra things such as extra toilet paper, paper towel etc. This is also when I purchase my laundry detergents, hair supplies, body supplies and what not. So here is my menu and then you will find my shopping totals as well. Don’t forget, my menu goes Thursday to Wednesday and I always plan one weekly dessert and take Sundays off.

Thursday- Pretty Penny Ham Skillet, Vegetables

Friday- Chicken and cheese enchiladas

Saturday- Mock Stroganoff, Rolls

Sunday- DAY OFF

Monday- Barbecued Pork Sandwiches, Shredded Potatoes – we always have leftovers of this, so me and my son will eat this for lunch for the next two days. It’s just as good the next day if not better.

Tuesday- Spaghetti with fresh mushrooms, Cheese Garlic Bread

Wednesday- Meatloaf Wellington, Honey mustard potato salad.

Dessert- Chocolate fudge nut bars- (never made these before, wish me luck)

Here are my shopping totals. I went to three stores this time around.

Kroger

Total Spent: $64.06

Total Coupons Used: $2.50

Total Sales: $11.55

Actual Cash Used: $50.01

Meijer

Total Spent: $101.38

Total Coupons Used: $10.80

Total Sales: $10.63

Actual Cash Used: $79.95

Kmart

Total Spent: $72.81

Total Coupons Used: $3.50

Total Sales: $13.68

Actual Cash Used: $55.63

I would have spent $238.25 but since I had $16.80 in coupons and got $35.86 in sales, I only used $185.59 in actual cash. So that means I saved $52.66. Not a great deal of money, but here every single penny counts. I spent about 4 hours total getting everything ready. So I basically made over 13 bucks an hour getting my menu and list together. Notice I saved more then last week as well. I spent more, but I still did a good savings. My payday shopping trips are not always this high either. But I needed everything this time around. So for everything that I got and what I saved, I think it still came out pretty good.
