Frugal Gift Ideas
Sorry I didn’t write anything yesterday for you all, I haven’t been feeling that good. But I’m here today and that’s all that matters. I figure today we should talk about some frugal gift ideas. If you have someone who is having a birthday or something else along them lines and you want to get them something but your wallet doesn’t let you, then this post will come in handy for you. Theme gift basketsI just love making these. They are fun, easy and cheap. I have done many kinds of baskets over the years. These gifts work out great for any holiday that comes around. You just need to know something they like and then make a theme basket. A popular one is a movie basket. This one can be made up really cheap or semi cheap. Pick up a $5 movie and then grab some popcorn, candy and something they like to drink. Place it all in a big bowl (so they can later use for popcorn) and your all set. You can get everything except the movie at the dollar store. Reaturant.comWe have talked about this already, but look into this place. You can get cheap gift certificates and give them away as gifts. Just make sure you look for places around their area.
Homemade giftsIf you do any type of arts and crafts then make something rather then buying something. One year I made my mother in law a scrap book of my three kids. She just loved this gift. Once I made my husband a memory book of his grandparents whom had recently passed away. He didn’t have many pictures of them, so I asked around the family and I was able to get my hands on a lot of pictures. I placed them in a memory book, scrap booking style. 6 years later I have not been able to top that gift. As you see there are a few things you can do and still feel good about giving and not bad about spending too much money.
I give almost all homemade gifts at Christmas time! It’s a great way to save money! I also like to alter things I buy at thrift stores by adding trims and whatnot to personalize them. It’s a lot of fun to make things for your friends and family, and it means so much more!
